FLASHLIGHT TAG

Equipment: 2 flashlights.

Purpose: To develop oculomotor control, and eye hand coordination.

Procedure: Therapist and patient take turns being leader and follower. The leader moves their light around the room, slowly, and the follower attempts to either stay right on top, or at some specified distance behind.

Gradations:

  1. Therapist names an object in the room, patient aims the flashlight at it, and then turns it on, noting how close they were.
  2. Therapist selects an object by placing their light on it, while the patient has their eyes closed. Patient opens eyes, and as quickly as possible, finds the lighted object and places their light on top of it.
